National Small Board Championship

The National Small Board Championship is run annually on 13x13 boards with short time limits, in the recent past this has been 15 minutes sudden death. This competition is currently run by Cambridge's own Paul Smith.

2003

This was held in Whittlesford, Cambridge on Sunday 16 November. The winner was Simon Goss (2 dan Bracknell) with an exceptional performance from Toshio Oshima (4 kyu Cambridge) placing him second, ahead of several dan players. Full results are available from the BGA Tournament Results.

2002

This was held in Whittlesford on Sunday 24 November. The winner was Yoon Jinhoon from Korea. Unfortunately, full results are not available.

2001

2000

1999

Held on Sunday 21 November at Milton Community Centre, just north of Cambridge, this was a six round open event on 13x13 boards, with time limits of 25 minutes each, for the national smallboard title. There were four rounds, with the day running from 9am to 4.30pm. The competition was organised by Matthew Woodcraft and was part of the third Cambridge Chess & Go Congress.
